Where is ginger cultivated?
A light yellow powder that combines the bright flavor of citrus with a gentle heat, ginger is mainly grown in five countries, India, China, Nepal, Nigeria and Thailand. Here at olam food ingredients, we source our ginger from our trusted grower partners in Nigeria. The country is the single largest grower of the root in Africa and fourth largest ginger origin in the world.
After it is harvested, the ginger is flaked and dried at local processors before it is shipped to our state-of-the-art facility in Vietnam plant for final processing. In Vietnam we will test, clean, and grind the ginger into powder.
